Dr Simon Rumley, Chair and Clinical Lead from NHS Wyre Forest CCG said: “There are plenty of things people can do to stay warm but sometimes these can be neglected, particularly by the elderly who may have a medical condition which means they’re not so aware of the cold.
“The weather can quickly turn from being relatively mild and spring-like to extremely cold so it’s important everyone has plans in place to keep warm when temperatures drop.
“If you have elderly relatives or neighbours, do keep an eye on them to make sure they’re warm and well. Make sure they have enough of the basics in their cupboards – tinned soup, bread and milk, and that if they take medication they have enough to last them.”
