Consultation to start on the Future of Acute Hospital Services in Worcestershire

Public consultation on the Future of Acute Hospital Services in Worcestershire will start on Friday, January 6th 2017.

Under the plans being put to public consultation all three main hospitals, the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre and the Worcestershire Royal Hospital will remain open but will work differently in future.

New chair and clinical lead for Wyre Forest CCG

Dr Clare Marley has been appointed as Chair and Clinical Lead for NHS Wyre Forest Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Qualifying as a GP in 2010, Dr Marley will lead the organisation that is responsible for commissioning a wide range of health services for local people, including hospital, community and mental health services.

Health bosses in Worcestershire are challenging the public to step up and become superhero’s in the fight against antibiotic resistance.

In support of European Antibiotics Awareness Day (Friday 18 November), the three Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in Worcestershire (NHS South Worcestershire, NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove and NHS Wyre Forest CCGs) are working with health and social care partners to remind patients of the importance of only taking antibiotics when necessary.

Protect your unborn baby this winter with a free flu jab

NHS Wyre Forest CCG is encouraging all pregnant women to get their free flu vaccination before the flu virus starts circulating. Flu can cause many complications during pregnancy, particularly in the later stages, such as premature births or low birth weights. In some cases, it can lead to stillbirth or even death in the first week of life. However, getting your free flu vaccination can help prevent difficulties and keep mother and baby safe.

If you have a neurological condition, such as Parkinson's or motor neurone disease, catching it can cause serious problems to your health.
