Wyre Forest Clinical Commissioning Group

Primary Care Delegated Commissioning

We see high quality primary care as the foundation on which to build the very best healthcare for the population of Wyre Forest. In order to achieve this we will need to increase capacity and capability in primary care medical services and other community services so that we can focus on preventative an d proactive care, particularly for our most vulnerable patients and those living in disadvantaged communities.

We want our practitioners in general practice to feel supported and valued in their role, meaning our GPs will be at the centre of the patient’s care, and will ensure a joined-up approach across health and social care services.

By delivering an excellent primary care service we hope to address many of the inequalities in health that exist in our area, narrowing the gap in life expectancy from one district to another, improving the health of those living with long term conditions, and delivering a better experience for all.

From 1 April 2016, NHS Wyre Forest CCG / NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove CCG will take further control of the planning, strategic direction, priority setting and decision making around primary care services on behalf of patients. This means that the CCG will take over the budget and agree all contracts with local GP Practices.
